Kenyatta University, through their innovation and incubation centre, has developed ventilators to help in the fight against Covid-19
A group of students from Kenyatta University have developed the much needed ventilators to assist in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. These students drawn from different departments and faculties embarked on the venture to develop the ventilator's prototypes within a week putting in 18 hours a day.
"The urge to make this machine is due to the shortage currently being experienced in the country," says Karanja, a fifth year pharmacy student at Kenyatta university.
According to the students, the prototypes are still awaiting certification and approval from the ministry of Health and Ministry of Industrialization while expressing optimism that it would be done by Monday, April 13, 2020.
